A ceasefire between Station Casinos and the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 is likely to cause the unionization associated with the Palace Station in downtown Las Vegas.
Palace facility's owner Station Casinos is accused of trying to influence an election of its workers by indirectly threatening all of them with medical care premium cuts.
It is not that Station has unexpectedly changed its long-held anti-union stance; rather, the business has been forced into an uncomfortable climb down, having been accused of rigging a workers' election, possibly in violation of the National Labor Relations Act.
This week, the business consented to settle a unjust labor practices problem filed to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) by the union. Station was criticized by the NLRB for allegedly interfering with the election, held final October.
'Instead than participate in lengthy, disruptive and distracting proceedings, the organization has decided so it would take its most useful interests to proceed with negotiations with the union while the collective bargaining representative at Palace Station for the qualified bargaining product team members at that home,' said Station within an statement that is official.
Station Casinos added so it shall stop fighting Local 226's attempt to unionize the property and proceed with negotiations.
